Product Introduction

What Is Titanium Ingot?

Customers worldwide use titanium ingots extensively, which are titanium metal products made by melting and casting primarily titanium sponges. We produce unadulterated titanium ingots and compound ingots. which are created through electron pillar softening, contribute extensively to item quality and efficiency upgrades for every client, because of their homogeneous arrangement, stable quality, and supply of enormous measured ingots.

Pure titanium or titanium alloy ingots are made by melting titanium sponge, with the addition of the alloying elements in the titanium alloys. Since titanium reacts readily with oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon, the melting process is performed in a vacuum or inert atmosphere.

Water-cooled copper is used for the crucible.

Methods that can be used to melt the titanium include consumable electrode vacuum arc (VAR), electron beam (EB), and plasma arc. We use the consumable electrode vacuum arc method, the method most widely utilized on an industrial basis.

Manufacturing processes

The manufacture of titanium ingots starts by forming the titanium sponge and titanium scrap into compacts using a press. These are joined together by plasma arc welding to make the consumable electrode, which goes through an arc melting in a vacuum or inert atmosphere to become the first melt ingot. (The melting process starts with an arc forming between the electrode and the crucible. As the electrode melts, the metal runs down and is cooled in the crucible below, forming the first melt ingot.)

To ensure even quality, the first melt ingots are used as electrodes and remelted. After quality control checks, the second melt ingots produced are shipped as final products.

Properties

We manufacture pure titanium ingots with excellent surface condition and high internal quality, in large sizes (5 to 10 tons) with composition appropriate for specific requirements. The uses of pure titanium include heat exchangers and piping for petrochemical plants, thermal/nuclear power plants, and seawater desalination plants.

In general, ingots are the most useful metallic form and the least expensive. Crystallization, solid state, and other ultra-high purification processes, like sublimation, are used to make materials. Custom compositions for new proprietary technologies and commercial and research applications are available.

In addition, we can supply shots and pieces at shorter ranges. We likewise produce Titanium as poles, pellets, pieces, plates, wire, and in compound structures, like oxide. Different shapes are accessible in response to popular demand.

Our titanium ingots are broadly used by clients all over the world. We produce pure titanium and alloy ingots. In particular, large-sized pure titanium ingots, produced through electron beam melting, contribute considerably to the improvements in product quality and productivity for each client, due to their homogeneous composition, stable quality, and supply of large-sized ingots.

A titanium alloy ingot is a solid block of titanium alloy by ASTM International. Gr5 is an alloy composed of 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, and 90% titanium by weight, density is 4.44kg/cm3, this alloy is known for its high strength, low density, and excellent corrosion resistance, making it a popular choice for a wide range of applications, including aerospace, medical devices, and industrial equipment.

The process of manufacturing a Gr5 titanium ingot typically involves melting and refining the raw materials, followed by casting the molten metal into a solid block using a mold. The ingot is processed further through forging, rolling, or machining to produce the final product.

This is mainly used in aerospace, aircraft, and engines where strong, lightweight, temperature-resistant materials are needed.

As it is resistant to seawater, titanium alloy ingot is also used for hulls of ships, propeller shafts, and other structures exposed to the sea.
