A: You should absolutely grease your seatpost (unless it is carbon fiber). It won't slip around if your seatpost clamp is properly tightened.

A: Most likely the seatpost clamp isn't tight enough. Use a 10mm socket or spanner and tighten a quarter turn at a time. Don't over tighten as this can damage your frame. After a quarter turn, test ride the bike to see if the seatpost still slips. If it does tighten another quarter turn and repeat.

A: Using your frame and/or seatpost torque specs as a guide, set the torque with a 4mm hex torque wrench. A good rule of thumb is to never exceed 6 Nm. If you're using a carbon seatpost or dropper post, you may need to set the torque at a much lower measurement to prevent crushing/binding of materials.
