ASME B16.5 Titanium Flanges are slip-on flanges.
The sliding flange has a lower hinge as the pipe enters the single flange before welding. It is welded internally and externally to provide sufficient strength to prevent leakage. The sliding flanges are all bore to match the slightly larger outer diameter pipe. They are superior to the welding of neck flanges, due to the lower initial cost, but the final installation cost will probably not be lower because of the added welding of neck flanges.
Applications
Due to the excellent corrosion resistance of titanium material, the titanium flanges are often used for connecting the tube ends of the petrochemical project. Also, it's useful in equipment exits and entrances to connect the two devices.

Titanium has a low density, so it is ideal where weight may be of concern. Medical and aerospace are two pillar industries of titanium alloy.
The strength and corrosion resistance of grade 2 titanium also make it very suitable for marine, chemical processing, and desalination industries. Typical applications of grade 2 titanium include oil and gas components, reaction and pressure vessels, piping or piping systems, heat exchangers, linings, flue gas desulfurization systems, and many other industrial components. Continuous operating temperatures up to 800 ° F, with occasional intermittent operation at 1000 ° F.
Corrosion resistance
The C.P. grade corrosion resistance of titanium comes from the strong and stable protective oxide film formed in the presence of oxygen.
This film enables commercial pure titanium grades to resist most oxidation, neutral and inhibitory reduction, as well as mild reduction environments. Grade 2 has excellent corrosion resistance in seawater and marine atmosphere. The corrosion resistance of the four C.P. grades is similar, but the mechanical properties vary with the content of oxygen and iron. Grade 2 titanium is corrosion-resistant by moist chlorides and metal chlorides, chlorite and hypochlorite solutions, nitric and chromic acids, organic acids, and many industrial gas applications.
Packing Method
Standard packing: plastic film or bubble paper wrapped on the product's surface, protect ends with caps, pack with wooden case or load on fumigation plywood pallet.
