Baoji Titanium Industry Ranks First in The World
On September 20, the reporter strolled southward along Baoti Road in Baoji High-tech Zone and saw that most stores along the street were related with the word "titanium", and all kinds of titanium alloy materials were sold in the store. Baoji City is known as China's Titanium Valley, where more than 600 titanium companies are located here.
It is understandable that in 2023, the total volume of titanium materials in Baoji City will be nearly 70,000 tons, accounting for about 65% of the national output and 33% of the global output, and the scale of the titanium industry will rank first in the world.
Baoji doesn't produce titanium ores but mainly focuses on the processing and manufacturing of titanium materials in the middle stream. The rapid development of the Baoji titanium industry is due to the settlement and drive of the Baoji municipal government. During the "three-line" construction period of the 1950s, many heavy industrial groups successfully laid out Baoji, including Baoti Group Co., Ltd. Since then, scientific research, engineering, and technical talents from all over the country took root in Baoji, formed the productivity and industrial accumulation of the titanium industry, and developed the titanium industry in Baoji. Based on the industrial foundation and attractiveness of the head enterprises, a large number of small and medium-sized titanium enterprises gather here around Baoti Group.
Driven by the giant enterprise Baoti Group, today, more than 600 titanium and titanium alloy processing and trading enterprises in Baoji produce more than 300 patterns, and more than 5,000 items of titanium products are manufactured here, widely used in aerospace and navigation, new energy, chemical industry, medical and health, and other fields, and are exported to more than 70 countries and regions. At present, the Baoji titanium and new materials industrial cluster has been included in the national strategic emerging industrial cluster development project and has been selected as a national small and medium-sized enterprise characteristic industrial cluster.
