Product Introduction
Description
Nickel alloy L- type profile have many advantages: low density, lightweight, high specific strength, good low-temperature and high-temperature performance, and excellent corrosion resistance. With the expanding application of titanium and alloys, nickel alloy profiles have been applied in many industries, from spectacles frames and watch covers and chains, to aviation, aerospace, marine, chemical, etc. Nickel alloys are easily contaminated by gas elements such as H, O, and N in production, causing high processing resistance and a narrow range of hot forming temperatures, it isn't easy to produce large-sized and variable cross-section profiles, resulting in high production costs.
Currently, China mainly produces some special-shaped materials and variable cross-section Nickel alloy profiles through mechanical processing, resulting in huge processing volumes, low metal utilization, and raw material waste. By comparison, the hot extrusion process conducted in a closed extrusion tube has become an advanced method for producing Nickel alloy profiles.

In 1971 China imported a 3150t horizontal extruder from Germany and began production. China researched nickel alloy hot extrusion technology, which can extrude various nickel alloy profiles with simple cross-sections. In 2009, another 6,000t extruder was imported from Germany, which improved the production equipment of hot extruded Nickel alloy profiles in China.
In 2011, the aviation industry conducted innovative experiments on the cold drawing technology of TC4 profiles and achieved initial success. In 2014, China successfully extruded TC4 "T" type Nickel alloy profile on a 3150t horizontal extruder, breaking through multiple key technical difficulties in TC4 Nickel alloy profile and parts for aerospace use, and developing Nickel alloy profile for model engineering.
Since the 1970s, China has conducted exploratory research on the hot rolling and extrusion processes of titanium and nickel alloy profiles. Compared with foreign countries that had mastered the production technology of hot extruded Nickel Alloy complex cross-section profiles in the 1960s, China has long mainly focused on the research of simple cross-section Nickel Alloy profiles such as "L", "T", and "U".
Conclusion
(1) Nickel alloy profile, as a semi-finished component with near-final shape, has low machining allowance, high structural efficiency, excellent comprehensive performance, and great market potential.
(2) At present, some nickel alloy profiles for civil use in China can be localized, but for aerospace and aviation nickel alloy profiles with strict service conditions, mainly rely on imports and are easily constrained by various conditions. With the rapid development of China's aviation and aerospace industry, it is urgent to establish a stable production process for the mass production of nickel alloy profiles required for key components and to establish unified production standards and quality judgment inspection requirements.
(3) based on mastering the production technology of some simple section nickel alloy profiles, China should focus on researching the lubrication conditions, metal strain state, and flow behavior during hot extrusion deformation of complex section Nickel Alloy profiles.
(4) Recently, China has been enthusiastic about developing new alloys and expanding new processes in the manufacturing of nickel alloys. However, the continuous exploration of the performance potential of old-brand nickel alloys is insufficient. In the process of product development and upgrading, difficulties will be encountered, and there are also shortcomings in controlling their comprehensive performance.
