Description

A titanium anode basket is composed of titanium plate and titanium mesh. The thickness of titanium is between 0.5-2.0mm. The common mesh of titanium basket is 6mm×3mm, 10mm×3mm,10mm×5mm, also useful wider 16×8mm, 25×15mm and so on

The anode basket is light in weight, corrosion-resistant, and has a layer of oxide film on the surface. Under normal plating conditions, the oxide film can prevent the current from passing through the anode basket and direct the current to the anode material in the anode basket.

Sizing

Baskets should be 2" to 4" shorter than the longest work.

Baskets should be 1" above the solution level.

The hook length is measured from the top of the anode bar to 1" above the solution level.

Quantities for rectangular baskets should be three (3) 2 1/2" x 6" baskets for every 2 feet above the bar.

Packing

The titanium anode baskets are tagged and labeled externally to ensure efficient identification and quality control. Great care is taken to avoid any damage which might be caused during storage or transportation.

 

The titanium basket has high strength, lightweight, corrosion resistance, and an oxide film on the surface. This film can prevent the current from passing through the titanium under normal electroplating conditions, but the current directly leads to the anode material in the titanium basket.

 

The titanium basket is usually used in combination with the anode bag. The anode bag is generally made of polyester (polyester fiber) or polypropylene (polypropylene fiber) resistant to acid and alkali corrosion or oxidation. It is set outside the titanium basket to prevent the anode mud and other debris from mixing into the tank. Sometimes to prevent anode mud more effectively, and prevent coating burr, can be used double anode bag, the use of the double bag, the inner bag to set tight, and the outer bag to loose. The anode bag generally has the characteristics of good corrosion resistance, good wear resistance, and good elasticity (polypropylene fiber), over the titanium basket to prevent anode mud, etc., from mixing into the tank. Sometimes to more effectively prevent anode mud, and prevent coating burr, a can be used double anode bag, the use of double anode bag, the inner bag to set tight, and the outer bag to loose, anode bag generally needs to have good corrosion resistance, wear resistance, good elasticity, and so on.

Precautions for using titanium basket

1. Soak the anode titanium blue and anode bag in 10% lye for 6-8 hours, wash dry, and then soak in 5% dilute sulfuric acid

 

2. When it is found that the titanium basket hook becomes hot, the quantity of titanium basket or the cross-section size of the titanium basket hook can be increased to improve the conductivity of the titanium basket

 

3. The titanium blue mouth should be 30-40mm higher than the liquid level to prevent the outflow of anode slag

 

4. The lower end of the titanium basket should be 100-150mm higher than the parts (the side close to the liquid level can be considered to install a mask) to avoid the lower end of the parts too concentrated, causing burning

 

5. The titanium basket and the anode should be in close contact, otherwise the anode potential on the titanium basket will rise sharply, so that the surface of the titanium basket oxygen evolution and chlorine evolution reaction, causing damage to the titanium basket and the oxidation of additives

 

6. The anode bag should wrap the titanium basket mouth tightly, and the bottom of the bag should leave a few centimeters gap to store the possible anode mud

 

7. Clean the anode bag and titanium blue every half month to a month, and replace the damaged anode bag, to ensure that the plating solution, aqueduct pollution-free

 

8. Timely supplement or enrich the anode material, to avoid "overhead" when the amount of nickel is not enough, otherwise titanium will be eroded.
